Dr. Victoria Lee, Ph.D

I’ve been a psychologist, individual and couples therapist, and sex therapist for more than 25 years. I'm privileged to have a gift and passion for this work. After many years of helping all kinds of people, I treasure that fact that I know the problems most people face. My track record shows that I’m skillful at helping you find your personal solutions. So many patients have been kind enough to tell me that our work together was life-changing.

Methods

My goal as your therapist is to listen attentively and deeply so that you feel heard, valued and supported.

Famous psychologist Carl Rogers urged therapists to provide "unconditional positive regard" for their clients. This is another way to describe the goal I have when you give me the privilege of being your therapist. It is the caring relationship between therapist and client that leads to the greatest healing for the client.

I have taught and practiced a wide variety of therapeutic approaches including Jungian, Gestalt, cognitive behavioral therapy, existential therapy and life coach skills. A seasoned therapist like myself uses a customized blend of these approaches to assist you in achieving your goals. If you want to resolve lifelong pain or limitations that are keeping you from fully experiencing love for yourself and your partner, we will explore your early life, early decisions you made, and new decisions that are available to you now. If a couple wants to communicate more effectively and make some changes in their sexual relationship, we will focus on strategy and skills.

I have been privileged to serve all kinds of people--many races, religious backgrounds, and life stages. I can assist you with parenting, blended family issues, grief, and much more.

Personal Life

I grew up in Arizona before moving to Washington, D.C. for school.  Eventually, I found my way to northern California, which has been my home since. I currently reside in a peaceful corner of Walnut Creek.

During my free time, I sing, read extensive poetry, and spend time with my family. I am especially fond of Rumi poetry; you can read my reflections on my blog, or read more about my inspiration and hear me perform Rumi poetry here.

It takes courage to reach out for help. I am supportive and non-judgemental. I want you take home something valuable each time we meet.

I work only with those I believe I can help. Before any appointments are made, I offer a free 30 minute call to help each of us decide whether it's a good match.
